MCIT Launches "Smart Hajj" Initiative<p>​Riyadh-SPA:<br>The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has launched “Smart Hajj" initiative on the national portal “Saudi”. The initiative includes digital services and a list of the key interactive applications that help accurately introduce pilgrims to the rituals of Hajj pilgrimage and take advantage of technology in learning about steps for moving between the Holy Places. It also offers guidelines, technical guides and health applications, together with a range of government applications that serve Hajj pilgrims and Umrah performers in Makkah and Madinah. Yesser Conducts Workshop on NEA for SASO Employees<p style="text-align:justify;">Riyadh-Media Affairs:</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The e-Government Program (Yesser) conducted workshop on the National Enterprise Architecture (NEA) and the National Overall Reference Architecture (NORA) for the employees of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). The workshop was held in Yasser’s headquarters.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Eng. Yesser Signs Cooperation Agreement with the National Information Society Agency of South Korea<img alt="" src="/AR/mediacenter/News/PublishingImages/2017/DSC00034.JPG?RenditionID=5" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /><p>​Seoul-Media Affairs:<br>The e-Government Program (Yesser) signed a cooperation agreement with the National Information Society Agency of South Korea during the visit of Yesser delegation headed by Eng. Ali bin Nasser Alasiri, Director General of Yesser Program, during the period of 8-10 May 2018. <br>Eng. Alasiri emphasized that this agreement aims for full cooperation between the two sides, providing support for Yesser in all the fields of National Enterprise Architecture and ICT investment governance as well as sharing research findings and studies and exchanging expertise in the field of digital government. This agreement also includes cooperation in building and enhancing the national capacities via customized training programs that will be held in the National Academy of South Korea, seconding experts and specialists in the relevant areas, and transferring knowledge to support the operation of National Enterprise Architecture Platform.<br>Yesser signed this agreement to enhance the digital transformation journey in Saudi Arabia by building strategic partnership with agencies in the outstanding countries in the field of digital transformation. Yesser Signs Two Cooperation Agreements with MODON<img alt="" src="/AR/mediacenter/News/PublishingImages/2017/YM3.jpg?RenditionID=5" style="BORDER:0px solid;" /><p style="text-align:justify;">​Riyadh- e-Media:</p><p style="text-align:justify;">Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON) and the e-Government Program (Yesser) signed two cooperation agreements at MODON’s headquarters in Riyadh to benefit from the services of the Government Service Bus (GSB) for providers and E-Correspondence System, which are both provided by Yesser Program. These agreements will enable the two sides to fulfil their commitments in achieving the goals of National Transformation Program 2020 and Saudi Vision 2030. </p><p style="text-align:justify;">Both agreements, signed by Eng. Khalid bin Mohammed Alsalem, Director General of MODON, and Eng. Ali Nasser Alasiri, Director General of Yesser Program, aim to build a strong strategic relationship to enable MODON to launch development projects that strengthen the integration process between MODON and other government agencies. These agreements also come in line with the Council of Ministers Resolution that demands government agencies to manage and make the shared data accessible to other government agencies in order to enable the integration of data between the government agencies and facilitate the provision of e-government services.  </p><p style="text-align:justify;">The first agreement (Interconnection with GSB as a Service Provider) contributes in facilitating the provision of MODON’s e-services in compliance with Yesser’s requirements. Requesting the validate data from the relevant agencies will be electronically in order to facilitate the procedure for the beneficiary when requesting the data that is required in the government e-services forms. The second agreement (Interconnection with e-Correspondence System) contributes in facilitating the interconnection of MODON with various government agencies and allowing the government agencies to exchange, track, store and retrieve documents and correspondences between them electronically in a high level of reliability and security under the supervision of Yesser. </p><p style="text-align:justify;">Eng. Alsalem emphasized that these agreements come within MODON’s objectives and strategies of cooperating, building partnerships, and strengthening integration with other government agencies and the private sector. Therefore, it will support its orientation in fulfilling its role towards the nation and society as one of the main pillars in industry and a key partner in supporting the development process and national economy. He pointed out that MODON is building fruitful cooperative relationships with all agencies that stimulate and create a suitable environment for industrial growth, support MODON’s approach, and contribute in the achievement of MODON’s strategies, plans and programs.  </p><p style="text-align:justify;">Eng. Alasiri indicated that Yesser is permanently focusing on the needs and requirements of the government agencies as part of its efforts to support the government agencies’ progress in the digital transformation and providing better and more accessible e-services to all beneficiaries. MOJ Succeeded In Sending 15,000 Judicial E-Notifications<p style="text-align:justify;">​Riyadh- e-Media:</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The number of judicial notifications sent by the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to the defendants has recently reached 15,000. The MOJ used electronic communications to send the judicial notifications pursuant to the royal order issued in this regard.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">The MOJ abolished the job of “process server", which is the job that includes the procedure of submitting the court documents to the defendant in person and this procedure changed into electronic procedure. MOJ pointed out that the employees who were working in this position were referred to other work and the ministry started to train and qualify them to gradually transform their career paths.</p><p style="text-align:justify;">MOJ has also launched a number of projects and initiatives related to the digital transformation field, which facilitate procedures for beneficiaries. UN Ranks KSA among the Most Developed Countries in Regulation of CIT Sector<p>​Riyadh- e-Media:<br>International Telecommunication Union (ITU) ranked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) among the most developed countries in the regulation of CIT sector worldwide. This category also included a number of other countries such as the United States and United Kingdom. The countries that have been ranked in this category are distinguished by adopting the best international practices to provide a suitable environment for developing the ICT sector and working collaboratively with stakeholders for pursuing economic and social goals.<br>Dr. Abdulaziz bin Salem Alruwais, Governor of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), said it was a great honor for the KSA to be ranked among the countries that adopt best international practices to build an environment that fosters the growth and development of the CIT sector as well as other sectors. He added that this ranking comes as a result of the CITC’s efforts to make the CIT sector in the forefront of countries that adopt the latest technologies and fulfill the aspirations of citizens. CITC has recently implemented several initiatives, such as launching initial testing of G5, the establishment of spectrum auction, and its efforts in enabling the Internet of things (IoT) in Saudi Arabia.<br>Dr. Alruwais emphasized that this ranking reflects Saudi Arabia’s global leading position that could not have been achieved without the unlimited support of Saudi’s wise leadership. He pointed out that CITC, with the continuous support and follow-up of H.E. Eng. Council of Saudi Chambers Signs Agreement with Yesser to Interconnect with GBS <p>​Riyadh- e-Media:<br>The e-Government Program (Yesser) and the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) have signed a cooperation agreement at the CSC’s headquarter. The agreement aims to interconnect the CSC with the Government Service Bus (GSB). GSB is a central platform for interconnection and integration among government agencies to facilitate the inquiry process about the shared government data and information in a credible and reliable way. Through this interconnection, the council will benefit from the e-services available on the GSB. <br>The signing took place at CSC’s headquarter. Dr. Saud bin Abdulaziz Almashary, Secretary General of the CSC, and Eng. Adel Asiri, Deputy Director Government e-Transformation Support, on behalf of the Director General of Yesser, have signed the agreement. <br>As part of the CSC efforts in adopting the concept of e-transactions and raising the efficiency and quality of its services, Dr. Almashary highlighted the importance of this agreement because it enables the CSC to be interconnected with GSB officially.<br>Eng. Ali bin Nasser Alasiri, Director General of Yesser, appreciated CSC’s efforts in joining GSB as provider and consumer of data and services. He indicated that as part of the digital transformation plan in Saudi Arabia, Yesser has launched GSB to build a common infrastructure among the government agencies to provide various e-services. <br>He stated that GSB is an integrated system in which various common services of government agencies are provided, highlighting that the agreement will enable the CSC to benefit from GSB’s services and use the data and information provided by different government agencies. He added that Yesser will cooperate with CSC in open data; this cooperation is part of Yesser’s efforts to support the digital transformation journey in Saudi Arabia.
