MCIT Launches "Smart Hajj" Initiative

​Riyadh-SPA:
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has launched “Smart Hajj" initiative on the national portal “Saudi”. The initiative includes digital services and a list of the key interactive applications that help accurately introduce pilgrims to the rituals of Hajj pilgrimage and take advantage of technology in learning about steps for moving between the Holy Places. It also offers guidelines, technical guides and health applications, together with a range of government applications that serve Hajj pilgrims and Umrah performers in Makkah and Madinah. The initiative is a part of the efforts exerted by the ICT sector synchronized with the efforts of all relevant government and private sectors aimed at availing of the best means that will facilitate the pilgrims to perform their rituals.
The MCIT stated that this initiative was launched to announce the start of a new phase in the digital transformation under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, enjoying supervision, follow-up and support of the leadership.
The MCIT had finalized all the preparations including the optimal set of infrastructure to harness out its capabilities for the services provided to the pilgrims.
