The Boston Consulting Group was established in 1963, and it is one of the veteran corporations specialized in administrative consulting with its services spreading over 45 states worldwide. The BCG launched the e-Intensity Index in 2009, and since then, the index is annually executed where the last index covered more than 80 states.
This index is distinctively different from other surveys as it offers information about how internet affects economic activities in the states targeted by the Index. It depends on three subsidiary indicators: enablement of Internet usage (50%), amount of expenditure on electronic activities including investment in advertisements on internet (25%), participation of government agencies, private sector and individuals in internet different activities (25%).
