Government Secure Network (GSN)

Project Objectives:

  • Establishment of the elements necessary for the implementation of electronic government services transactions by providing basic infrastructure to link government agencies.
  • Connect the government agencies by the e-Government Data Center "YESSER".
  • Enable the e-Government Program "YESSER" to be a link between the government agencies.
  • Standardize the links between government agencies and reduce that cost.

Description of the project:

According to the operational plan for the e-Government Program "YESSER", the program will be establish a communications network special for electronic government transactions, this network linking government agencies to the e-Government Data Center "YESSER", which was established at the highest technical specifications and security for use in hosting the gate of the national electronic services, and the host site for e-Government Program "YESSER". This network enables the e-Government Program "YESSER" to be a link between the government agencies to standardize the links between government agencies and reduce that cost. Table No. (1) Shows a list of some of those government agencies included in the plan of networking which that relevant to exploratory services and project of the Ministry of Finance to connect the government agencies to SADA were currently linking 45 governmental agencies to e-Government Data Center as a first stage of the implementation of this project, and will be completed linking government agencies in subsequent phases of the project gradually, as the uses and services available.

This network is characterized by a high degree of efficiency and reliability in addition to providing a very high transfer speeds and provides security amid in the transfer of data through the use of the latest techniques of data transfer protocols. Characterized as a possible future expansion easier according to the needs of each phase and the possibility of transfer to any form of data between government agencies, whether in the form of text, audio, video, and the cost is much less than the traditional communication lines used as a virtual digital (IP-VPN), which operate in a time-sharing.

They represent an Intranet with a high level of reliability to government agencies associated with them, as they are part of the network of protected (DMZ), and this means that they isolation from the public Internet.

As part of the framework of joint action, will be the definition of detailed policies for network security will be retained by the regulatory basis. To reach the required level of security will be the e-Government Program responsible for adherence to these security policies for e-Government services.
